CITY OF BUFFALO
SPECIAL MEETING MINUTES
May 9, 2008
The Buffalo City Council met in Special session in the Council Chambers of City Hall. Present were Councilman Johnson, Councilman Hancock, Councilman Humphrey and Councilman Vogl. Vice-Mayor Hancock called the meeting to order at 8:30 a.m.
The meeting was held for the consideration of a resignation letter from Mayor Anderson. Councilman Johnson made a motion to accept the resignation of Mayor Anderson effective May 7, 2008. Councilman Humphrey seconded the motion and all Council members voted aye. Vice-Mayor Hancock then requested nominations for the Mayor vacancy. Councilman Vogl made a motion to appoint Councilman Johnson as Mayor with a second from Councilman Humphrey. Councilmen Hancock, Vogl and Humphrey voted aye with Councilman Johnson abstaining.
Mayor Johnson then took the Mayor’s chair and asked for nominations for the Council vacancy. Councilman Hancock nominated Randy Dyess and Councilman Humphrey nominated Bruce Hepp. Councilmen Vogl and Hancock voted for Randy Dyess with Councilman Humphrey voting for Bruce Hepp.
Mayor Johnson explained that both the Council and Mayor terms would be on the upcoming ballot with the filing period from May 15 through May 30, 2008.
Mayor Johnson led the Pledge of Allegiance and Councilman Hancock made a motion to adjourn the meeting. Councilman Humphrey seconded the motion and all Council members voted aye. The meeting adjourned at 8:35 a.m.
