Meeting was called to order at 4:40 pm with the following members in attendance: Bill Cooley, Mary Fowlkes, Jack Tarter, Courtney Frost and Lois Petersen. Approved the minutes of the July meeting and agenda for the August meeting.

1. There has been unauthorized removal of rocks from trail between Turkey Lane and Mosier Gulch. BTB will try to raise awareness on the trail maintenance process as outlined in Master Trails Plan. Signs on trail, letter to editor, article in the newspaper are some ways we can make people aware of the process to follow and how to let the BTB board know when unauthorized maintenance takes place.
2. Final coat of paint for the 1880 bridge needs to be applied. Bill will email proposed dates and communicate with Jack Tarter about possibly finding someone willing to do the painting for us, should spraying the paint on be an option. Work was done on the approach to both ends of the bridge, but safety fencing still needs to be placed on lower portion of the bridge.
3. Marchelle still enjoying the job, doing well, and hoping to work the same job next year. Weeding around trail signposts still needs to be done.
4. Kiosks still have not been placed. Bill will keep trying to contact Les Hook.
5. Rec Board applications are still in the works.
6. Dave Palmerlee and Craig Cope will evaluate whether a bridge would be necessary on the proposed Tie Hack extension trail. Courtney and Jack mentioned an ATV trail located across from Hettinger Group Campground from School House Rd up to Circle Park that might be a great route for the new trail extension to follow. Allison Ginn and Bill Cooley or Norb Lyle will look at the sections through BLM land and then Allison will meet with Craig Cope.
7. Spotted knap weed has been seen and pulled from the Mentock Trail. It needs to be pulled and put in a plastic bag for disposal so that seeds don’t spread. Weed and Pest will take care of it if called and given a location where it has been seen.
8. Trail brochures are being distributed and are well received. They are often requested at Sports Lure and we may want to put them also at the hospital/clinic waiting rooms and hotel/motels.
9. Bill will present a 90 certificate and thank you letter to Alicia Bankstonin appreciation for her excellent work with the Buffalo Trails Board.
10. Dog waste stations continue to need our attention on a regular basis.
11. Received American Trails membership information. Decided not to renew membership. Notice received from City that our 1000 budget request was approved.
12. Other

Downed trees on Mentock Trail have been dealt with to some extent by State Forestry, but not completed yet.

Eva Knepper issues need to be addressed to Cemetery Board, City, NRCS, and/or others by the Friends of Eva Knepper since that trail is not recognized as a city trail at this time.

Next meeting will be Sept. 23, 4:30 pm.
